Cycling survival skills for students

Tue, 08 Sep 2015 02:00:00 BST

go:cycling is offering free “Survival Skills” courses for student cyclists in West Yorkshire. This is your opportunity to learn a set of approved cycle commuting techniques and how your own actions and road position can influence drivers’ behaviour.

Professional urban cycling tutors will teach students how to survive and thrive in traffic and how to avoid a traffic accident or injuries while cycling to University.

The free morning or afternoon sessions will last up to 2 hours and must be booked in pairs so they are ideal for two friends or siblings. You can book at a location to suit you such as near your home or University.

All participants completing the course will also receive a new 'go:cycling savers' loyalty card offering discounts at local bike shops, retailers and cafes. Trainees will learn basic maintenance skills, cycle handling tips and national standard hazard avoidance techniques.

Further free sessions can be booked for more advanced techniques. To book email events@getcycling.org.uk or call 01904 636812
