University celebrates World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day World Mental Health Day takes place on the 10 October each year and to mark this the Wellbeing and Disability Services team is holding the following events:

On Tuesday 6 October and Wednesday 7 October films based on the subject of mental health will be presented in Heritage Quay, on level 3, Central Services Building at 5.30pm.

On Friday, 9 October, from 11.30am to 2.30pm, in conjunction with the School of Human and Health Sciences, free tea and chat (and cake, for a small donation) will be available with external organisations and University staff on hand to talk and provide information to anyone worried or concerned about mental health or other wellbeing issues.  The event is based in the atrium of the Central Services Building and the foyer, level 4, in Student Central.

According to the Mental Health Foundation every year one in four people will experience some kind of mental health problem, with mixed anxiety and depression being the most common mental disorder in Britain.  

Everyone is welcome to attend the event which has been organised by David Keegan from the Wellbeing Service.
