On Thursday 22 October Wellbeing and Disability Services are holding an event from 11.00am to 2.00pm focussing on supporting students at a time in the academic year when they might be feeling particularly vulnerable.

Supporting our students

They may be having doubts about whether university is right for them or even whether they have chosen the correct course and this may lead them to consider discontinuing with their studies.  Wellbeing and Disability Services will have a manned stand where advisers will be on hand to provide information and support whilst allowing students to have an informal opportunity to meet the team.

External organisations

In addition, external organisations will be there to provide information and support to students on life issues which may be impacting on their ability to study including sexual health, eating disorders, mental health and drug or alcohol abuse.  Rapid HIV testing and chlamydia screening will also be available.

The event will be on Level 4 in Student Central and in the atrium of the Central Services Building. Everyone is welcome to attend the event which has been organised by Debs Birch from the Wellbeing Service.

For further information on the event please contact Debs on extension 3940 or email her on D.J.Birch@hud.ac.uk
