Remembering David Arthurs

Tue, 27 Oct 2015 12:34:00 GMT

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of David Arthurs who passed away peacefully on 21 October 2015.

David started working for the University in 2000 and has been an academic skills tutor in the School of Human and Health Sciences since 2001, where he created and developed the Learning Quality Support Unit. Over the past 15 years he has supported many, many students and colleagues developing their academic skills and confidence. Of equal importance, David was a well-respected tireless UCU (The University and College Union) representative and Dignity at Work officer. His contribution to the life and development of the University will be greatly missed.

Colleagues are invited to visit the Online Memorial for David Arthurs and to share in the creation of the Memorial by leaving a personal message and any special remembrances, photos or videos. Details of the memorial and the funeral arrangements can be found here: David Arthurs The funeral will take place on Monday 9 November at 1.15pm at the Huddersfield Crematorium. Donations to muscular dystrophy charities are requested rather than flowers.

There will be a memory book for anyone who would like to leave a message in the School of Human and Health Sciences reception in the Harold Wilson foyer from Tuesday 27 October until the morning of Monday 9 November. If anyone is unable to leave a message personally, they can email this to j.hargreaves@hud.ac.uk and it will be copied into the book.
