A new book co-authored by Visiting Research Fellow and FEGReG member Leire San-Jose, leader of the Ethics in Finance and Social Value Research Group at the University of the Basque Country, has been published by Springer. The book, Social Accounting for Sustainability: Monetizing the Social Value is written by Leire and her co-authors J. L Retolaza and M. Ruiz-Roqueñi. It showcases SPOLY (the social polyhedral value methodology for stakeholders), a unique methodology based on stakeholders’ interests and formulated by the authors as a way of monetizing the social value of organizations. But Leire points out that ‘the most important contribution is the process more than the social value quantification’. Leire’s work in the field of financial ethics has also seen her assemble a Panel of Experts which will meet in July 2016 in Shangai at the ISBEE International Conference about European Business Ethics.
