Mon, 19 Oct 2015 11:59:00 BST

We are pleased to have taken delivery of an 1897 Broadwood Piano, fully restored by internationally-renowned piano expert and innovator, Richard Dain,at his Hurstwood Farm Studios.

The instrument is undoubtedly unique in its condition, and has been purchased to further the research aims of the Music department in terms of historical performance – it would also make an ideal recital instrument in a wider context, particularly for the performance of late 19th/early 20th Century British music.

The instrument will be unveiled in a concert given by the Meiningen Ensemble on Thursday 29 October in a performance of the Elgar Piano Quintet. Book tickets by visiting www.hud.ac.uk/concerts or calling 01484 471873.
