Appointment of Readers and Fellows

Readers, Research Fellows, Enterprise Fellows and Teaching Fellows
The University is pleased to announce several new Reader and Fellow appointments within the schools of Applied Sciences, Art, Design and Architecture, Computing and Engineering and Human and Health Sciences.
Six Readers have been appointed:
Dr Vasileios Kontogiorgos (Applied Sciences), Reader in Biopolymer Science, researching chemistry and physical chemistry of food macromolecule and is a member of the Glycobiology and Food Science Group, an interdisciplinary team of scientists whose specialist research areas cover most aspects of carbohydrate chemistry and biology.
Dr Wesley Moran (Applied Sciences), Reader in Organic Chemistry, researching synthetic organic chemistry and is particularly interested in polyvalent iodine compounds, C-H activation and the synthesis of small molecules.
Dr Nathan Patmore (Applied Sciences), Reader in Inorganic Chemistry, researching metal-metal multiply bonded complexes, which typically consist of a dimetal core surrounded by four bridging ligands in a “paddlewheel” arrangement.
Dr Jess Power (Art, Design and Architecture), Reader in Textiles and Apparel, researching textile innovation, clothing sizing and fit, technical textiles and textile pedagogical evaluation.
Dr Feng Gao (Computing and Engineering), Reader in Metrology and Instrumentation, researching surface metrology, advanced optics and instrumentation.
Dr Andrew Newton (Human and Health Sciences), Reader in Criminology, researching geography of crime/environmental criminology, policy analysis and evaluation, computational criminology, crime analysis and GIS, situational crime prevention, crime and technology, and mixed methods research.
The University is also pleased to announce the appointment of three new Fellows for Teaching, Research and Enterprise.
Dr Carlo Fabricatore, (Computing and Engineering), as a University Teaching Fellow. Dr Fabricatore’s specialist teaching areas are game design and development, interaction design, software engineering, and management. His research interests are centred on the impacts of play and games on learning and human development in social communities and enterprises.
Dr Serena McCluskey, (Human and Health Sciences) as a Principal Research Fellow within the Centre for Applied Psychological and Health Research. Dr McCluskey’s research interests include researching the psychosocial influences on health and illness, whilst her primary interests are focused around work, health and well-being.
Dr Anna Williams, (Applied Sciences), heads the Forensic Anthrolopogy Research Group and has been appointed as a Principal Enterprise Fellow. Dr Williams is an experienced Forensic Anthropologist and regularly undertakes consultancy work for local police forces, Forensic Engineering Solutions and Kenyon International Emergency Services.
