Towards a low Carbon Kirklees

Staff and students are invited to attend the ‘Towards a low Carbon Kirklees’ Conference on Saturday 28 November from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Towards a low Carbon Kirklees will concentrate on how the issues of climate change affect us locally. This is your opportunity to discuss about climate change locally, gather ideas and discuss solutions about collective actions that will contribute to a successful transition to a low carbon economy - in our communities and through our council and university.

There are also a variety of morning and afternoon workshops to choose from.

The event will take place in Quayside, Level 2, Central Services Building with optional lunch in the Business School cafe. A ticket costs £6.50 or £11.50 with lunch. Entry for students is free or £6.50 with lunch.

Speakers and workshop leaders include

  • Elizabeth Cox, New Economics Foundation (Keynote)
  • Sir John Harman, former chairman of the Environment Agency
  • Cllr David Sheard (Leader, Kirklees Council)
  • Richard Hollinson (Policy Group Leader, Planning at Kirklees Council)
