Year 1 Architecture | Architectural Technology
School of Art, Design and Architecture | University of Huddersfield
in collaboration with Kirklees Council, Woodland Trust and Dewsbury Museum

First year students from the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Huddersfield, have undertaken a series of live projects and events in Dewsbury Country Park working with members of Kirklees Council, the Woodland Trust and Dewsbury Museum. Their final design project is a Visitors’ Centre in Dewsbury Country Park. Students were asked to research nature and its cycles in order to design a building that would survive the environment in which it would be located.

In order to mark the collaboration between the students of Architecture and Architectural Technology, Kirklees Council and the Woodland Trust, an exhibition of work for the design of the Visitors’ Centre took place at Dewsbury Museum from Tuesday 26th May to Tuesday 30th June 2015. The exhibition showcased a selection of the students’ work and the activities undertaken in Dewsbury Country Park during the academic year 2014/15.
