On Monday 8th June 2015, GDRC is organising an information session on SCOPUS and Thomson Reuters ISI. This session, delivered by Stephanie Hull from Emerald Publishing, will provide an overview of bibliometrics, including an overview of Scopus and Thomson Reuters ISI (Web of Science and the Journal Citation Reports), and the benefits/limitations of both systems. It will include a discussion about the different metrics they use (Impact Factor, new Scopus IPP) and how authors can increase citations to their own work. There will be a demonstration on how colleagues can use both Scopus and Web of Science to see which journals are receiving the most citations, what are the most highly cited papers in their field, and how they can track their own citations.
