Wed, 10 Jun 2015 09:00:00 BST

The University will be part of a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest number of people simultaneously learning to code an Android app on Saturday 13 June from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

The event is hosted by the University and organised by BCSWomen, part of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT.  The aim of the day is to break the record, but also to encourage young people, particularly girls, to consider a career in IT.

On the day the event will be led by a member of BCSWomen who will teach participants how to build Android apps using MIT AppInventor.  Individuals and families with children over the age of 10 are welcome to come and learn how to build Android apps . The sessions will be a mixture of talks, activities and hands-on coding.
