Senior Lecturer's success in the Domes Greek Architecture Awards

It is with pleasure that DOMES presents part of the outcome of the ‘DOMES 2015’ initiative, a project aimed at recording, encouraging, and promoting the work of Greek architects, working in Greece or abroad, as well as contemporary architectural creation in Greece.

The "Faliron Landmark" competition proposal in Athens, Greece by Simos Vamvakidis was awarded the 2nd prize in the category "Best unbuilt project for 2010-2014" in the Domes Greek Architecture Awards 2015.

The award jurors  for 2015:
Benedetta Tagliabue, Principal Architect, Miralles Tagliabue EMBT, Barcelona, Spain. Member of the Pritzker prize committee Mirko Zardini, Architect, Director, Centre Canadien d’ Architecture, Montreal, Canada

The three jurors were invited to evaluate the projects individually, without convening in real time or space and to write a brief comment on them. Τhe announcement of the results of the competition and the presentation of the prizes took place at the Benaki Museum, Peireos Street, in Athens, on 18 March 2015.

ΔΟΜΕΣ‘ and its contents are a function of the current situation of architecture, the circumstances under which it is practiced, and the editors’ perception. It seeks to constitute a platform of international discourse, of colloquy and dialogue ideally, whilst based in Athens, Greece.
