An update from the Placement Unit

Wed, 25 Mar 2015 09:36:00 GMT

So far this year we have 18 students who have already secured a placement job for the 15/16 academic year, with companies such as LK Bennett, Plum Pudding Publishing, Cooneen by Design, Northern Ballet and Lover in Sydney, Australia.

Our drive to find even more placement opportunities with new companies is yielding results! This academic year to date we have advertised 144 different placement opportunities with 107 companies; 30 of these are brand new industry contacts. Compared to last year we had advertised just 52 jobs with 42 companies.

This year we have also increased our placement drop in sessions to three times per week; as a result we have seen 126 students since November. We now hold sessions during term time every Tuesday and Thursday, 2.00 - 3.00pm in CAB Café Atrium and Thurs 12.00 -1.00pm in QSS Reception.

We have also undertaken company visits to two new placement companies, who are looking to offer multiple opportunities to the School. Plus, last week we welcomed two companies onto campus to speak with our students and visit our facilities.

Three new placement year company logo boards will replace existing ones in the CAB Atrium, Workshop corridor and QSS Foyer.

We have completed and published the new Platform Placement newsletter.
