New primary book now available

The second edition of this book, 'Teaching & Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities in Primary Schools' is now available. Written by University Teaching Fellow and Primary teacher training course leader, Jonathan Glazzard, along with Jane Stokoe, Annette Netherwood and former staff Alison Hughes and Lesley Neve, it is aimed at a primary trainees to support children in primary schools. 

It is a guide to working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).The text explores what is meant by SEND in primary schools and goes on to cover all trainees need to know about statutory responsibilities in school. Current legislation and the Code of Practice are covered and the text explores a range of needs encountered in primary schools giving practical advice.

This second edition has been fully restructured and updated to include a new section on the key theory relating to SEND. Also new for this edition is a chapter focusing on the role of the SENCO in the primary school. Finally, the book includes more practical support to help you in the classroom.
