Identity Papers: Call for New Submissions

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 12:08:00 BST

The first number of Identity Papers: A Journal of British and Irish Studies proved to be as diverse, thought-provoking, and well-read as the editors hoped. Submissions are now being accepted for the second number. If you would like your work to be considered for the autumn/winter 2015 edition, please submit it to identitypapers@hud.ac.uk by 30 September 2015.

Identity Papers was officially launched on 29 April at the University of Huddersfield, with lively presentations by some of its authors, including Amir Saeed and Shamim Miah, and a talk from Daniel Travers (Laurentian University, Canada), a member of the international editorial board.

On the strength of their publications in Identity Papers, authors have been asked to appear on radio, provide comment for newspapers, and contribute to blogs. They have had enquiries from other academics and practitioners interested in their work. This demonstrates the impact that publishing with Identity Papers has. Just two months after publication, individual articles have had around 50 downloads.

Identity Papers is interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, and open access. It brings together the work of academics and non-academics whose research focuses on any aspect of contemporary and historical British and Irish Studies. It showcases learned comment, considered opinion, and reflective reviews relating to studies of identity and citizenship. Full guidelines for contributors can be found here.
