Third year student runs Dementia Friendly training sessions

Kevin Hall, a third year Nursing (Mental Health) BSc(Hons) student, who is also a Dementia Champion, facilitated two Dementia Friends training sessions for university staff. The interactive sessions aimed to provide an insight into what it is like for people living with dementia and also challenge the way we think about, talk about and understand dementia.

he sessions which follow the Alzheimer’s Society’s programme to create four million dementia friends by 2020, were very successful with lots of positive feedback received from University staff. 

One commented “The session I attended today was brilliant, I loved it. I thought the presentation was fantastic and this really challenged my ideas. I would definitely like to see more sessions being held in the future”.
