‌In addition to teaching a diverse student community on campus, the University of Huddersfield Business School also supports companies from a variety of industry sectors through providing a wide range of services.

One of our most recent collaborations has been a tailor-made programme developed for Zarafa Holdings Limited. With over 40 years’ experience, Zarafa specialise in accessing buildings from height and suspended access solutions.

Over the last four months, the Business School has delivered a non-accredited management development course to a cohort of 10 of the company’s employees. The programme was structured as four 2-day blocks, plus a Synergy Day, tailor-made for the Zarafa’s needs in order to enhance their employees’ skills and knowledge.

The course covered a variety of modules destined to enhance the participant’s knowledge in key aspects of business, such as marketing and strategy, operations management, understanding financial information or managing people.

The concluding Synergy Day gave Zarafa participants the opportunity to review, evaluate and celebrate their achievements. They spent the morning creating a poster to synthetize their learning, reflections and personal development, which was later showcased to their colleagues, managers and staff from the Business School. During the day, the participants were also presented with certificates from Chris Cowton, Dean of the Business School.

The course has been a real success and serves as an excellent example of how the Business School can collaborate with businesses to help them to meet their objectives.
