Want to improve your writing?

Learn to structure an essay, develop an argument and improve your style and use of language with David Stuart Davies, a British writer who worked as a teacher of English before becoming a full-time editor, writer and playwright.

David has written extensively about Sherlock Holmes, both fiction and non-fiction. His aim as Royal Literary Fund fellow is to demystify the writing process, helping students to enjoy their work and gain confidence in their ability.

Students and staff may consult with David on a purely voluntary basis and any student can book an appointment. He provides a very different resource to that of our other Student Learning and Support providers. He is independent of the University, confidential and whatever your background, academic level or current abilities, he will work with you on a one to one basis in a sympathetic and practical fashion to improve your writing skills and thus your academic confidence.

David will be available for 30 minute appointments on Mondays and Tuesdays and is based in Room HWG/19 in the Harold Wilson Building.

Any student or member of staff can book an appointment by contacting the iPoint:
