Samphi This time last year Dale Green, a first year Computer Games Programming student, had his game on ‘Steam Greenlight’. A year later and now in his second year, Dale has had his game ‘Green lit’ after gaining enough votes from players which means his game will be made. This is a real achievement at this stage in his career.

About the Game

Samphi is a randomly generated survival/ role playing game (RPG) set in a 2D sandbox universe. Dale is hoping that what will make Samphi unique from the other games in this genre is the greater focus on RPG, world management, and the story.

The story of Samphi is about travelling through memories to re-live a broken relationship before letting go. It will be a while before the story is up and running so for now in order to drum up a community, the game is out in alpha giving you the free play mode in which the world is yours; this is only 50% of the game.

Dale has created a whole sandbox universe for Samphi, including both a story mode and a free play mode where the world is your own. Create your own world, live your own story, use your skills to survive and hone them to master the world around you.

Dales process of creating the game

“I started working on Samphi 3/4 years ago. I was in my first year of college and wanted to make a game. I didn’t know how to program or draw; I started, and figured I’d teach myself as I go. Three to four years on and I’m still working on it.

At the end of 2013 I put the game on Steam and after 400 days it got ‘Green lit’, so will definitely see a large audience. I’ve released various versions throughout development on multiple platforms. Currently 5700+ people have installed and played the game.”
