Huddersfield Literature Festival The Huddersfield Literature Festival continues until Sunday 15 March with a theme of ‘Into the Future’. Huddersfield celebrates literature with a wealth of exciting festival events, including workshops, talks, open mic/poetry slam, music and dance.

Since its inception in 2006, the Huddersfield Literature Festival has provided innovative and high profile events to support and showcase both established and new, emerging writers and performers, as well as offering the opportunity to attend workshops and masterclasses.

Slam poetry champion, film-maker, showman, teacher and artist Jamie DeWolf will be premiering an explosive and irreverent talk 'The Author as God', teaching a Slam Poetry workshop and presenting a Slam Poetry event at this year's festival. This premiere lecture by the great-grandson of L Ron Hubbard, the SF author and founder of Scientology takes place on Thursday 12 March and it is one of the few remaining events which will be taking place here at the University.

Tickets for University of Huddersfield staff and students are free.  If you are interested in attending please send your contact details to Huddlitfest@gmail.com The price for those outside the university is £5 and tickets can be bought at the Lawrence Batley Theatre or paid on the door.
