University award for CRISS researcher

Dr Shaun McDaid, Research Fellow at CRISS [pictured above], was recently awarded the title of the University of Huddersfield’s ‘Outstanding Early Career Researcher of the Year’ at the annual Research and Innovation Awards ceremony. The awards were presented by the University of Huddersfield’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bob Cryan CBE.

Dr McDaid was nominated for the award by Professor Nigel King, the School of Human and Health Science’s Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise. Professor King’s nomination referred to Shaun’s links with scholars at universities and research institutes at home and abroad, contribution to postgraduate supervision, and some of his recent publications, including articles in the international journals British Politics and Terrorism and Political Violence, as well as his book Template for Peace: Northern Ireland, 1972-75, published by Manchester University Press which is forthcoming in paperback in February 2016.
