Are you an MSc student in Strategy, Marketing and Economics*?

Are you willing to make a 20 min presentation?

Are you a September starter student?

Did you achieve 2:2 in term one modules?

 

If the answer is YES, you are eligible to submit a proposal for a student visit to Jordan in April 2016.

Dates and Submission

Submission deadline

Monday 1st February 2016, 12:00pm (noon)

Notification of short listing

Monday 22nd February 2016 (notification by email).

Presentation

Monday 29th of February 2016 (place and time to be confirmed).

Trip to Jordan

Sunday 3rd of April – 8th of April 2016 (to be confirmed).

Workshop date in Jordan

Monday 4th April 2016.

Student visit information

This visit is 100% funded – including; travel, accommodation and visa expenses, in addition to food and subsistence in Jordan. The program will include international interactions and workshops with business students from three universities, in addition to entertainment trips to Petra and the Dead Sea.

The workshop

The workshop theme is "Business Strategies and Ethics". In the current workshop, our aim is to expand the dynamics that affect managerial perceptions and applications toward business ethics and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Although there are significant advances in the areas in Business Ethics and CSR which are well established in Anglo-Saxon countries, it is still in infancy stage in less developed nations. In this workshop, we invite academics and students from different universities to contribute to these areas, and elaborate on the gaps in managerial concepts. Further areas for research, in areas of teaching business ethics and CSR and practical applications could be of interest.

Method of application: The application is composed of two parts

  1. Personal statement (300 words MAX): why would you like to contribute to these seminars
  2. Proposal (750 words MAX).

Recommended topics include, but not limited to, the following

  • Business Ethics in Decision Making Processes.
  • Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (SCSR).
  • Business Ethics and Marketing Intelligence.
  • Corruption: between Costs and Business Morals.
