Action centred solutions to improve the life of children
Former first Children’s Commissioner Professor Sir Al Aynsley-Green will give a special lecture as part of the 2nd Annual ‘Finding a Voice’ conference on Tuesday 12 January 2016.
The lecture will be an opportunity to discuss finding a voice with children and young people and ideas that resonate with professional interests and your career development needs. It will also blend relevant concepts with examples from day-to-day practice and gives an opportunity for you to offer insights from your own experience.
The lecture will be given as part of an innovative teaching and learning experience for final year students on the BA(Hons) Childhood Studies course. As part of a module called Finding a Voice: Children and Young People, students will present a range of papers at the conference.
This module is centered on a study of theories and models of voice particularly in conjunction with the UN convention on the rights of the Child: Article 12. In addition to relevant theory we will consider factors such as supporting children and young people to be heard, ethics and culture, international perspectives and many more.
