Professor Jeff Hearn addresses major European conferences

CRISS-based sociologist Professor Jeff Hearn has presented his acclaimed research in three keynote addresses at major European conferences in the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Spain.
He presented the short paper ‘Neo-Liberal Universities, Neo-Liberal Patriarchies, and Neo-Liberal Masculinities: Transnational Reflections on the Global North’, at the RINGS conference ‘Gender in/and the Neoliberal University’, Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, 5-6 November 2015. He was also re-elected as Chairperson of the Transitional Executive Board of RINGS: – The International Research Association of Institutions of Advanced Gender Studies.
Professor Hearn also gave the final Keynote address on ‘Moving Men, Changing Men, Othering Men: Reflections on and beyond Politics, Representation and Care’, International Workshop. Men in Movement: Trans/forming Masculinities in Politics, Care, and Media, Espai Francesca Bonnemaison, Barcelona, organized by the Open University of Catalonia, 18-20 November 2015. Whilst there, he gave an interview on violence to the journal El Periódico.
Finally, he presented the paper ‘Men and Masculinities: The Place of the International, the Comparative, the Global and the Transnational’, at the Workshop on Men, Masculinities and (In´)Equalities – Nordic Challenges and Global Perspectives, Network for Comparative Studies of the Nordic Gender Equality Model, Aalborg University, 26-27 November 2015.
