On Sunday 15 November, despite the wet and windy weather conditions, physiotherapy lecturers Sarah Prenton and Jonathan Flynn completed the Leeds Abbey Dash alongside four final year physiotherapy students. Money was raised for Age UK as well as charities endorsed by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

On the physiotherapy course at Huddersfield they strongly believe that the years spent as a student should be more than just study and socialising. Participating in events like this makes them feel part of something bigger and worthwhile which in turn gives a sense of belonging to the event, the causes, the course and the University.

Healthcare courses are by their very nature vocational and as a rule the staff and students want to help people.  Doing something like the dash not only achieves this, but is also a healthy activity, a principle that is important in their profession.

Building on this the team is planning to complete the Huddersfield 10k in February 2016 and are hoping that they will attract more staff and students to join them. If you are interested they would love to see you there.
