Professor Jeff Hearn has recently published a new academic monograph, exploring how contemporary globalisation is shaping men and masculinity. The book, entitled Men of the World: Genders, Globalizations, Transnational Times, is published by Sage. Among the themes analysed in the work include ‘the implications of debates on globalization for analyzing men, and the implications of debates on men and masculinities for globalization, transnational change and transnational patriarchies, as part of engagement and critique focused on the global North.’
The book has so far attracted strong praise from reviewers. It has been described as ‘an important, thought-provoking and incredibly timely book from one of the leading scholars in the field of men and masculinities’ by Professor Terrell Carver, University of Bristol, and as a work that will be will be ‘seized upon by academics and activists facing up to the persistence, proliferation and transnationalization of patriarchies’ by Professor Cynthia Cockburn (City University London and Warwick University). Further information about the publication can be found on the Sage website.
