The Launch of Identity Papers

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 02:20:00 BST

On Wednesday 29 April, from 4.15 to 6.15pm in the West Building W1/38, The Academy for British and Irish Studies is holding an event to launch Identity Papers: A Journal of British and Irish Studies. Our first number goes live in the next few days.

The first edition of this new online interdisciplinary journal from the University of Huddersfield Press features work on integrated education in Northern Ireland; racism; Islamophobia; co-production; understanding concerns about community relations; identities and Romani Britishness.

Everyone is welcome to come along and hear more if you are interested in these topics, or would like to submit an article to Identity Papers in future.

The editors and authors will introduce the journal from 4.15pm and then, after drinks and refreshments, a member of our international editorial board, Dr Daniel Travers (who completed his PhD in the History department here at Huddersfield), will give a paper on his own research: ‘Captive Culture: Art and Ingenuity behind Barbed Wire in the British Isles, 1940-1945’.

Please RSVP to identitypapers@hud.ac.uk
