Educate North Awards

The University of Huddersfield has been shortlisted for two categories in the Educate North Inaugural Awards:
Research Project of the Year – Extended Play (more details below).
New University of the Year – the University has been shortlisted for this category along with the University of Chester and Edge Hill University.
Extended Play
Extended Play (EP) is a new publishing platform that Professor Alex Coles, leader of the G research group in the School of Art, Design and Architecture, has developed in partnership with Sternberg Press, Berlin.
EP fluidly moves between art, design and architecture, creating a discursive platform between popular magazines (“single play”) and academic journals (“long play”) by introducing the notion of the “extended play” into publishing.
EP1 ‘The Italian Avant-Garde’ received strong reviews with The New York Times and The Times Literary Supplement.
Winners Announcement
The winners will be announced at a black tie dinner in Manchester on 3 June 2015 which will showcase the world-class status of many of the North’s leading academic institutions, with a special one-day conference preceding the awards.
