All you need is your mobile and bit of creativity, then give us your best shot!

mobile phone HRH The Duke of York, who is the University of Huddersfield’s Patron, is running a film competition.  To take part all you need to do is use your phone to film yourself spelling out a word or phrase from George the Poet's inspirational poem, All Existence Is Contribution (see below).

You can do this in any way you wish, as long as we can still read the words.  So, be creative, have fun and let your imagination run free.  You could write the words on a piece of card and hold it up to the camera, paint them on your face, write them in the sand, spell them out in daisies, or even pull them out of your pocket on a piece of silk.

It would be great if we could have some Huddersfield contributions in the film.  It'll only take you a minute, so if you are happy to help, select a bold word or phrase from the attached poem and get filming.  Then send your video submission with your name and organisation to doy.office@gmail.com by Monday 6 October to be in with a chance of being part of the final film.

The film will help to promote the launch of the iDEA awards scheme – the University is a founding partner – which is for digital entrepreneurs under the age of 25.  You can find out more at http://www.onemillionyoungideas.org.uk/.

So, give us your best shot from the poem below...

All Existence is Contribution

Analyse phenomena and extricate fact from it. When we

Take from the world, we don't have to subtract from it

- using what we extract from it, we can impact on it, because

All existence is contribution.

Ignore the twists and convolution. There's

Seven billion people in the world...

And not one of them has the same fingerprints as you.

Everyone brings something to the table, but

Not everyone gets a seat. And

When people don't get a seat,

Then people don't get to eat. But

That's only half of the tragedy. The

Other half is equally sad to see. Re-
