Higher Education Internationalisation

Dr Ainur Abdrazakova, Docent of Turar Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University delivered a seminar on Higher Education Internationalisation on the 1st of August, 2014. Ainur already presented for the EMERGE group on the development of higher education in Kazakhstan earlier this year.
Dr. Abdrazakova spent 10 months as a post-doctoral researcher within the Central Asian Network in Economics and Management (CANEM) project in the University of Huddersfield Business School.
The seminar aimed at providing a more in-depth insight into the tendencies of strategic development in conditions of globalisation. lobalisation has increased the integration of the global economy. Today Higher Education is an international business operating in a global market with some 100 thousand institutes describing themselves as universities. The internationalising of the Higher Education system remains one of the most urgent issues of educational policies of the countries all over the world.
Ainur shared examples on how globalisation challenges are being addressed by Higher Education stakeholders in Kazakhstan - government sector, education sector, and private sector. The seminar concluded with interactive discussions that highlighted the objectives of the seminar.
Professor John Anchor, Director of the Emerging Markets Research Group, says : “it has been a great privilege to learn more about the Kazakh education system and also how the world of Higher Education is seen from Kazakhstan.
