Car Parking for Open Day

Wed, 17 Sep 2014 09:30:00 BST

Dear Colleagues

As you will know, our next Open Day is on Saturday 20 September when we will be expecting over 4,000 visitors to our Queensgate campus.

This year, English universities are no longer bound by recruitment quotas and can recruit as many new students as they wish. Competition for new students will be even more intense and so every Open Day and Visit Day is particularly important for our future prosperity. It is vital that we make a positive impression on our guests.

In common with established practice all University car parking spaces on campus and on Firth Street (with the exception of disabled bays), will be set aside on Saturday for our visitors and so will be unavailable for staff use.

Staff who have a parking permit can park at St Andrews Road, in the space allocated to the University for parking during the week. Please display your permit if you choose to park there and please do not park in non-university bays.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this may cause you, and thank you, as always, for your understanding and support.

Professor Peter Slee

Deputy Vice-Chancellor
