Over the summer Team Hud started a new children’s activity scheme offering sport, games and activities for 7 to 12 year olds.  Camp Hud was run for two weeks by Katie Nutter, Kirsty Dow, Stephanie Smith and Samantha Bullock.

Camp Hud The children enjoyed a variety of sports, including tag rugby, football/futsal, rounders, racket sports (tennis, squash, badminton and table tennis), tchoukball and basketball.   They played team games and relays as well as taking part in Zumba classes and Les Mills classes for children.

There were also scavenger hunts, treasure hunts, arts and crafts, baking and films.  On the last day the team hosted a party for all the children to attend with party games, face paints, nail painting and food.

Parents from across campus tried out the scheme for the first time and feedback suggests that it was a success:Camp Hud

“My daughter went to Camp Hud and absolutely loved it, the staff were lovely and everyone was so friendly.  She doesn't have a lot of confidence, but this wasn't a problem as every afternoon when I picked her up she told me about the friends she had made and the wealth of activities they had done.  They had use of the University's amazing Sports Hall so there was plenty of room for them to run around and tire themselves out.  On the last day they even had a party which was a nice way to round off the week and say goodbye to the new friends they had made. I do hope they run it again next year as I will be certain to book my daughter on it and highly recommend it to anyone else thinking about it,” said Nicola Werritt, Public Relations Officer and Videographer.

Camp Hud Due to the popularity of Camp Hud they are considering running another camp in the Easter holidays.
