New eCover system for coursework extensions

Tue, 07 Oct 2014 09:28:00 BST

I know that most of the time you meet your coursework deadlines. But I also know that for good reasons it is occasionally impossible and that you need a little extra time. That is why we have a system in place at the University to allow you to request an extension.

We want to ensure this is as straightforward as possible, and so from this term all extension requests for coursework on modules in your School must go via the Portal. The eCover system will also provide a means by which a receipt will be issued for summative work which is not submitted via TurnItIn.

These requests are made online, can be done from home or elsewhere, and will always receive a proper timely response by email that you can track.

Please note that because of this change, no member of staff can now offer or approve an extension directly with you. Read our guidelines on requesting an extension for further advice.

I will send a further reminder about this later in the term as deadlines approach, but in the meanwhile, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
