Alan has extensive business experience and his group is active in a number of sectors including industry, finance, property and natural resources. He is passionate about giving something back to the community, and regenerating Yorkshire.

The textile factories he owns are going through a renovation, reinvesting back into Yorkshire.  One example is the Globe Innovation Centre in Slaithwaite, an incubator for the region with partners including 3M, the University of Huddersfield and Kirklees Council.

In 2012, he founded the Alan Lewis scholarship to secure education for disadvantaged young people at the University. He has also just been appointed as the Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University too, helping create and nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs.
