Great Bake Off Results

A big thank you to everyone who took part in last Tuesday’s Great Bake Off in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The two prize winners were:
Mark Berry, Combined Services Group, Estates and Facilities with his Glazed Fruit Cake.
Emma Wray, Combined Services Group, Estates and Facilities with her Chocolate Orange Cookies.
The soggy bottom prize went to:
Heather Mackintosh, Vice Chancellor’s Office with her Millionaires Shortcake.
The judges: Nicola Rees and Kay Crewdson of BBC Look North and Barrington Douglas and Richard Dennis of Discovery Bay made comment on the high quality of the baking produced whilst special reference was made to Heather’s soggy bottom.
Jenny Grainger’s fruit loaf was also mentioned as the only cake that caused the knife to bend.

Overall £400 was raised for this worthy cause. A big thank you to all who donated.
