The University of Huddersfield is proud to welcome the first cohort of students onto its elite new Turbocharger Engineering MSc, housed within the newly-established Turbocharger Research Institute (TRI).
Students from a wide range of backgrounds within the turbocharger industry have joined the course from countries across the world including Poland, Germany and the United Kingdom. They will study part-time for two years, with the content and block mode delivery of this innovative new course meaning that they can continue working whilst studying towards a Master’s qualification.
They began their studies with an eight day Introduction to Turbochargers and Internal Combustion Engines, which provides a broad overview of the technology, introducing the basic theory as well as industrial insight into turbocharging drawn from the extensive industrial experience of the TRI team. Guest lecturers and speakers contributed to the course by speaking on a range of topics including turbocharging applied to racing.
The world-class Master’s course is based on industrial requirements to prepare graduates with the knowledge and skills required to support this fast moving technology. Graduates of the Turbocharger Engineering MSc will be well-equipped to take senior technical and managerial roles within turbocharger, engine and vehicle manufacturing organisations.
