Turbocharger MSc Launch The 11th International Conference on Turbochargers and Turbocharging was held at the British Museum in London on the 13-14th May, 2014.  The conference was the latest in a series of highly successful and prestigious events being delivered by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).  Attended by a number of research staff from the University’s newly-formed Turbocharger Research Institute, the conference addressed current and novel aspects of turbocharging systems design, boosting solutions for engine downsizing and improvements in efficiency.

The Turbocharger Conference also saw the official launch of the University’s elite new Turbocharger Engineering MSc, which will welcome students from all over the world who want to specialise in this innovative sector of engineering. The course aims to extend the skills and knowledge of early engineers in preparation for assuming senior technical and managerial roles.  The turbocharger is a key component in the internal combustion engine that enables designers to reduce emissions, improve fuel efficiency and increase performance. With the rapid growth of this industry, the TRI provides a pool of knowledge and skills that will keep businesses at the forefront of this world-leading technology.
