Leah Black, a first year student on the two-year part-time PgDip Professional Studies (Youth and Community Work) has won a scholarship for a study trip to Uganda. She was awarded extra funding for the quality of her application as the Outstanding Application of the Year.

The course includes placements, which are usually where you work. However, the second placement has to be at another organisation and Leah is using the award to fund travel to her second placement which she organised in Uganda.

She has to complete a report after the visit to explain how she has benefitted from the funding.
