The Yorkshire Network for Canadian Studies seminar series presents a talk by Dr. Susan Billingham on Tuesday 18 March, from 4.30pm to 5.45pm.

Dr. Susan Billingham is Associate Professor in Canadian Studies at the University of Nottingham. She has been published widely in the field of Canadian literature, focusing variously upon experimental poetry, contemporary women’s writing, First Nations’ literature and gay, lesbian and transgender identities.

Her most recent project focuses on young adult literature with gay, lesbian and transgender content, inspired by writers like Ivan E. Coyote and Shyam Selvadurai. She explores pedagogies, education and the extent to which institutional attitudes to gay, lesbian and transgender youth are changing (or failing to change).

The seminar will take place on Tuesday 18 March, in the West Building in Room: W2/24 from 4.30 to 5.45pm. All welcome.

This event is funded by a Network and Outreach Grant awarded by the Foundation for Canadian Studies.
