Politics launches new blog

Harold Wilson’s Pipe’ is a brand new blog, which has been launched by the Politics department at the University. The platform provides an opportunity for Politics students and staff to share their opinions and views about a wide range of current affairs, as well as personal journeys including life at the University.

Launched in January 2013, the blog has already got off to a flying start and within just three months is already attracting a large readership. A number of students and staff have submitted unique and insightful posts, which explore personal journeys and highlight their passions for Politics. With a variation of writers,topics and stories to showcase, the blog is sure to be a regular read for Politics enthusiasts.

Dr Andrew Mycock, Senior Lecturer and Reader in Politics commented, “Writing a blog is an excellent way for students to develop writing and analytical skills and also enhance their online CV. Politics students have the potential to reach out to others in encouraging political literacy and engagement”.
