Kevin Hall, second year Nursing (Mental Health) BSc(Hons) student has become the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Regional Student Representative for Yorkshire and Humberside.

‌The post will run until 31 December 2014 and responsibilities of the role include communicating with the nursing students across the Yorkshire and Humber regions and sharing these on a national student committee that feeds directly into the RCN council. The committee meets three to four times per year in London.

Kevin sees the role as a chance to represent Mental Health Nursing as well at the University of Huddersfield in a national arena:“I will be representing the best interests of regional nursing students and ensure our voice is heard and views respected as the future of nursing.

As a student with prior professional experiences in the health and social care sector, I have many skills and attributes to bring to the role. I'm not afraid to speak my mind or address large numbers of people. I keep abreast of the issues effecting nursing and hope to share the views of students in my role”.
