A new and unique training unit has been launched as part of the School of Human and Health Sciences called the Quantitative Research Methods Training Unit (QRM-TU). ‌

This aims to provide high quality training and support to researchers and academics on the development and application of advanced quantitative methods and modelling methodologies to diverse issues and topics in health and social sciences as well as various other fields of inquiry.

Although this may sound a little technical to some, Dr Daniel Boduszek (pictured) states that the QRM-TU’s mission is to “translate complicated statistical concepts into simple English and deliver them to non-statisticians”.

A series of training courses are available, which aim to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to specify, test and interpret latent variable statistical models and propensity score matching techniques.

The first course is being held on 29 April 2014 at the University and will look at Moderation Analysis using SPSS (Moderated Logistic and Multiple Regression).

Further information about all of the courses is available, where you are also able to book and pay for your place online. You can also view the latest QRM-TU course flyer, which is printable and highlights upcoming course dates: QRM-TU_courses-flyer.

If you wish to find out further information about QRM-TU or the courses the unit runs, please contact Dr Daniel Boduszek on e-mail: d.boduszek@hud.ac.uk
