Cycling Challenge

Tue, 18 Mar 2014 07:00:00 GMT

A new cycling competition is challenging staff and students from Universities and Colleges in Huddersfield, Bradford and Leeds to cycle as many miles as they can on two wheels between now and Friday 11 April.

The Inter-University and College Cycle Challenge is being organised by Sustrans’ projects: Huddersfield Active Travel, Bradford Bike Hub and UTravelActive in Leeds, in partnership with West Yorkshire go:cycling.

The challenge aims to encourage cyclists of all abilities to cycle more, both for commuter and leisure journeys. Every time someone makes a cycle trip they can compete against colleagues and friends as well as between other institutions by logging the journey on the competition website. They’ll be in with a chance to win prizes including £50 bike shop vouchers, £25 shopping vouchers, bike accessories and great discounts at numerous shops and cycling providers.

Students and staff from the University of Huddersfield can sign up to the challenge by visiting Go Cycling
