This year’s Graduate Shows took place last month at the University of Huddersfield organised by staff and students of the school of Art, Design and Architecture. These exciting shows began on Friday 13 June and took place in a variety of venues across the campus and at the Lawrence Batley Theatre.
The events showcased the unique designs of our final-year students before graduating and entering the industry. The shows were open to the general public who were privileged to view some of the most creative works and designs of our students.
Some of the highlights of the week include the popular and glamorous Fashion and Costume Shows which were highly attended by families, friends and the wider community. These shows provided an entertaining experience with the fantastic work and designs of our final year Fashion Design and Costume with Textiles students, held at the Lawrence Batley Theatre.
David Bailey the Creative Director of User Experience and Design (UX&D) for the BBC opened our shows at the VIP preview evening. The night also provided an amazing opportunity for industry professionals to speak to some of the students. This resulted in some of our graduates being head-hunted by industry representatives and some of the world’s top designers who attended the shows and the catwalks.
Some of the incredible designs our students exhibited came from the courses of Architecture, Interior Design, Photography, Fashion and Costume Design, Animation, Graphic Design and Illustration.
