Schools and Colleges Liaison Team ‌The University's work with schools and colleges plays an important role in our recruitment activity.  The Schools and Colleges Liaison team spend their time being that crucial link between the University and these institutions.

This staff feature introduces the team and what they do, so for those of you who don't already know them you can meet the team.

You can find out more about each team member here: Meet the team and more about their work here: Schools and Colleges Liaison Team

What do they do?

The Schools and Colleges Liaison team offers a diverse range of activities and events for all age groups to promote progression to Higher Education.

They provide impartial information, advice and guidance about how to research Higher Education courses and institutions as well as specialist advice on topics such as student finance and making an effective application through UCAS.

The team provides a number of progression activities for Adult Learners as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for school/college staff and careers advisers.  They are also happy to be the liaison point between school/college staff wishing to form links with University staff in specific subject areas.

Widening ParticipationSchools and Colleges Liaison Team

The team works closely with our school and college partners across the region with the aim of widening participation to Higher Education.

They have an excellent reputation for widening participation with 100% of advisers and teachers in partner schools stating that they would recommend the University to a colleague for its widening participation advice.

Their successful Progression Module currently has 700 registered learners from 10 schools.  94% of students on the course said that it had allowed them to consider university in more depth.   9 out of 10 participating teachers agreed that the Progression Module increased understanding and awareness of higher education.
