The Symposium is a free networking event with professional business connections and a chance for our students to showcase their collaborative work projects.  It takes place on Friday 23 May from 9.00am to 5.00pm in the Creative Arts Building and students can participate in the following ways:

  • Have a table at The Market (If you wish to present contact immediately)
  • Be a networking delegate (sign up using the Eventbrite link below)
  • Showcase your work in 5-10 minutes timeslots – either performance or presentation

Two Professional Guest Speakers:

  • Dex Hannon
  • Fifth Planet

The Market 11.30am – 1.00pm:

  • 15 tables in the Creative Arts Building Atrium for students/external collaborators to display work that they have done with a networking community.
  • Students and external guests can see what other students can do for them, such as promotional videos, graphics, logos or photos.

Pitching Slots 1.00pm – 2.00pm:

  • Students can pitch their ideas for projects and try and recruit people to contribute to their project ideas which could potentially be presented next year.

Student Presentations 2.00pm – 3.00pm:

  • A chance for students to do 5-15 minute presentations to a professional audience and showcase their work.

Music Performances:

  • Rattle & Thud (Creative Arts Building Atrium session)
  • Bad Idea Band

The Prize:

  • A prize is awarded for the most interaction on the day of the event with social media, such as posts on the facebook page or tweets.
  • Asking existing participants to lend their skills as a prize. This will be a priceless prize as the winner would get free work from a professional. This comes in the form of professional video creation, Radio Jingle creation, professional photoshoot, professional graphics/logo production or free promotion for their event/project for a month.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
