The Future’s Bright for Blessing

Blessing Maregere is a second year BA(Hons) Enterprise Development student at the University who has certainly been counting his blessings! He is a multi-award winning young entrepreneur and inspirational speaker and he is only just 21 years of age.
He tells us his success story and how it all started.
“I started my first business at the age 16, after struggling to find a part time job I decided to create my own job. I launched Essential Cleaning Company in 2009, after three months of trading the business was a success. The company was employing six cleaning staff and turning over £10K monthly. After a year of trading I sold the cleaning company for profit so I could explore other business opportunities.
Blessing’s success caused a lot of interest and he was approached by a lot of young people who were interested to hear how he had done it.
“The interest I received motivated me to launch my own social enterprise charity called Bright Futures Enterprise. BFE runs enterprise programs and employability programs to inspire and educate young people to be successful. Since launching BFE in 2010, I have worked with over 10 thousand young people nationwide and the social enterprise has received over £40k grant funding to run their programs.
I also work as an inspirational speaker and I’m a qualified youth success coach who is on a mission to inspire young people to follow their passion. In November 2013 I was invited to speak at Tedx Croydon in London. I spoke to over 200 young people. My talk was called ‘Let Your Passion Be Your Alarm Clock’. The main aim of the talk was to inspire young people to follow their own passions.”

Blessing has also completed a youth coaching scheme last year and will be piloting his own youth coaching programme for young people aged 16-25. The coaching program will help support young people reach their full potential within business and their chosen careers.
Despite running a social enterprise, delivering inspirational speeches and coaching young people, Blessing has still found the time to set up a new business, an Estate Agency in Leeds – with a difference!
“I am also the Director & Property Specialist of Estates Direct Leeds. Estates Direct is a 0% commission agent in Leeds. The Estates Agency aims to disrupt the property market in Leeds by charging 0% commission and only charging a fair fixed fee to home movers.”
