Fri, 25 Apr 2014 10:39:00 BST

The Operating Department Practice team at the University plan to hold a taster session on campus to allow people interested in a career in healthcare to gain an insight into this profession.

Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) work alongside surgeons and anaesthetists to care for patients during surgery. There is currently a shortage of ODPs nationally and employment rates in these roles are very high.

For those interested in a career in a health profession are welcome to attend, where you will discover more about the Operating Department Practitioner role, the Operating Department Practice BSc(Hons) course and entry requirements. You will also have the opportunity to attend a demonstration within the University’s simulated operating theatre skills lab.

The session will run from 10am-12pm on 7 June 2014 and you can book your free place on eventbrite.

Visit the course page for more information. This course is only available to applicants who are eligible for NHS funding, further information regarding bursaries is available on the NHS Business Services Authority website.
