A “Commons” success for the Legal Advice Clinic

After a tense wait on Tuesday evening in the House of Commons, Legal Advice Clinic Director Phil Drake and a group of student advisers found out that the clinic was runner-up in the LawWorks Awards in the category of ‘Best New Student Pro Bono Activity’. This is a fantastic achievement for a clinic that has only been open since October 2013 and is a sign of how much progress has been made in such a short period of time.
Everyone involved in the Legal Advice Clinic hopes to build on this success by continuing their hard work at the clinic here in Huddersfield and earning more nominations for awards in the future.
Speaking after the ceremony Phil said: “I am sure you will join me in congratulating the students and members of staff involved in the Legal Advice Clinic for their hard work and efforts.”
