Sound System Culture

SSC is a Heritage Lottery Fund project narrating a history of reggae and sound systems in Huddersfield since the 1960s. As well as conducting oral histories, SSC has built a heritage HiFi sound system, which has been touring carnivals in the north of England. The Academy has supported the project by funding stickers, posters and a USB memory stick including reggae and dub.
